First Lady Shirby J. Simmons is a native of Sumter, South Carolina. Born on November 24, 1956, she is the youngest child of six siblings of the late Joseph and Roberta China. A very energetic and creative child, First Lady Shirby Simmons was educated in the public school system of Sumter County and Central Carolina Technical College in pursuit of studies in Early Childhood Development. She was later employed for 24 years with Yusa Exide Battery Company where she was a faithful, dedicated, and hardworking employee.
A woman of noble character and elegant grace, First Lady Simmons married her knight and shining armor on June 30, 1984 and to this union, God birthed three sons and one daughter. Through hard work ethics and a Christian home, First Lady Simmons raised her children to love the Lord, respect others, and always work hard for what you want in life.
In 1992, she joined in ministry with her husband Pastor Sammie D. Simmons and became the First Lady of St. Mark 4B Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the choir, usher board, and established youth activities on a local and national level. Through her love for God's people, The Daughters of Zion (Women's Ministry ) was birthed out to empower and encourage women from all walks of life to know who they are and walk in their ordained destiny.
First Lady Shirby Simmons is a woman of great beauty, integrity, and humility. Her favorite color is red and her favorite scripture is taken from Philippians 3:14: I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Today, First Lady Simmons is bless to have three handsome grandsons Cayin, Carmello, and Gavin and one son-in-law Kibwe and a daughter-in-law Marquita. First Lady Simmons has shown us that she is unstoppable and unbeatable. She is a true woman of God and a role model to so many women not only in St. Mark 4B Missionary Baptist Church, but a leading lady across the world. A God-fearing woman, a wonderful wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and a dynamic First Lady of St. Mark 4B Missionary Baptist Church.
